Sports News

Cross Country
We warmly invite all families and friends to join us at Gundary Oval for the St Mary’s Cross Country next Friday 28 March. The day will begin around 9.30am and will begin with the longer (competitive) 3km race for the 11-13 year old students. Following this, our 8-10 year old students will run the (competitive) 2km course. As an alternative, any student who does not wish to run competitively, may opt to run in a shorter 1km fun run. We will also welcome the K-2 students to participate in a short 500m race. This is always a highlight for parents and students alike. A more detailed outline for the day was communicated via COMPASS on Thursday afternoon. We will be selling Ice blocks (Zooper Doopers) at the carnival, students are encouraged to bring along some money, a lovely way to cool off after a big run.

On Thursday, April 3, students in Stage 2
will be attending the Eurobodalla Netball Cup

few days. In the past, we have had a wonderful
experience at the gala day and are looking forward
to expanding our involvement with Netball NSW.
Please keep an eye out for further information to come.

Individual Sports Trials: Netball, Rugby League and Soccer
Over the next few weeks, we have several students from Year 5 and 6 travelling to Canberra to participate at various sports trials, including Netball, Rugby League and Soccer. We wish the following students all the very best of luck as they compete for a position in the CECG sports teams.

Netball: Matilda W
Rugby League: Xavier E, Hugo D, Beau Mc, Tane M, Oliver A, Sam W
Soccer: Mackenzie H, Tommy D, Andre L

Hockey
Over the last few weeks, students in grades 3-6 have been enjoying learning about the game of Hockey. We are very lucky to have expert and experienced Hockey instructor Cheryl with us again teaching us the skills required to play the game. Later this year, we will be meeting with other schools, joining in a Hockey gala day where the students will be able to showcase their improved hockey skills.
