Welcome to Term 4! It's hard to believe we are at this point of the school year already! 2022 has certainly flown by ... I guess time flies when you are having fun…. and we certainly have had lots of sporting fun this year.

MacKillop Cricket
Last week, Darcy F in Year 5 travelled to Dubbo to be part of the MacKillop Boys cricket team. Darcy played from Tuesday to Friday in some very tough competition. Darcy is such a keen cricketer and it has been on his list of priorities for many years to make it through to this level of competition. Congratulations to Darcy on his commitment and achievements in cricket this year.

 
Darcy F: “The best part about going to Dubbo for cricket was the part where I cleaned bowled the opening batsman for the other team. The not so good bit was having to play on the synthetic grass for the first time. It was extremely fun in Dubbo. Everyone in the team was very nice and we all became good team mates. The Coach, Brad, was also very nice to me and I hope I get another chance next year’.

CRICKET, TOUCH FOOTBALL, TENNIS AND BASKETBALL TRIALS

FOR THE 2023 CALENDAR 

CRICKET

  • The Canberra Goulburn Cricket Trials for the 2023 teams will be held on Friday 4 November 2022 with a closing date of the 28th of October 
    Open to boys and girls from Year 3 to Year 5 in 2022
  • The MacKillop Cricket trials for 2023 
    Boys Wednesday 30 November & Thursday 1 December 2022
    Girls Wednesday 30 November     2022

TOUCH FOOTBALL

  • Canberra Goulburn trials Friday 9 December
    Open to boys and girls from Year 3 – Year 5 in 2022

TENNIS AND BASKETBALL

  • 2023 Canberra Goulburn Tennis and Basketball trials will be held on Friday 2 December 2022. This is open to students from Year 2 to Year 5 for TENNIS and Years 3 to 5 for Basketball. 

Please be in touch if you require any further information regarding these trial events - please be aware that these trials are being held this year for the 2023 sporting year and competition pathways. All other trial events will be as normal for the 2023 year.

I am in the process of planning sporting dates for the 2023 school year, including the St Mary’s Swimming Carnival and the pathways following on from this, which will all kick off very early next year. I will communicate dates with families as they become available and confirmed on our school calendar.
